The old game produced back in 1997 has deffinently left it's mark on the gaming community. Nearly everyone that has anything to do with gaming has heard of this, and anyone who has played it has fallen in love with it's unique gameplay story and just plain awesomeness...
Graphics 10/10
==============================================================
The graphics of FFVII were one the most stellar things at the time. With astonishing cut-scenes and great looking in-game graphics. Weather you are watching Bahamut destroy half a hemisphere or just watching Cloud hit someone 22 times in a row, it looks great. Mind you they are a little dated now, and none of the characters ever seem to have mouths or noses.
Sound 9/10
==============================================================
You can look at any of the Final Fantasy games and find great orchestras and music that might make the weak hearted burst into tears. Even for back in 1997 the music was something to be cherished. The game lacked dialogue which left a lot of people wondering exactly how a few characters names were pronounced, but who cares about that. It is all about killing things... right?
Controls 10/10
==============================================================
Being the last Final Fantasy game to reportedly have the original turn-based battle system, it gave a good flow of the game. Sure you don't have characters jumping around and slashing wildly, but it gave you more control. You were able to actually see what you were fighting efficiently and not worry about you position on the battle field.
Story 10/10
===============================================================
Weird birdlike creatures, gigantic talking dogs, stuffed animals to read your fortune that also kicks some monsters out the door, pretty rocks that conjure fire, ice, and lightning... What isn't to love about the unique storyline that FFVII has been set into. With the death of a beloved character (for some of us) and a psychopathic master swordsman that wishes to destroy the earth for the fun of it. The entire game is essentially based on stopping Sephiroth from destroying the planet, cat and mouse the whole way. Most people get sucked in for life on the unique story of FFVII while they ride around on chocobos conjuring up knights the size of skyscrapers...
Fun 10/10
===============================================================
It is only 10/10 if you like this genre of games. Otherwise, go play something else... The RPG adventure has a slight repetitiveness with random battles and Sephiroth always alluding you. But the diversity of monsters, magic, and statuses that you can create leave a lot to the imagination. Anything that the main story doesn't create, other places do, with several side-quests and enough mini-games to be a separate game itself, you always seem to have plenty to do. Even if you aren't following the story...
Reply 7/10
===============================================================
It will always be the same story with the same character at the same difficulty with same bad guy with the same ending with the same trip along the way. This normally draws people away from replaying RPGs. FFVII suffers from this as well, as when you start the game up again it is the same ALL AROUND. Many people may want to go back and take their time as there is MUCH hidden in the game, or take the time to challenge the optional HARDEST enemies or conquer other tasks that are not required... But for the average gamer, this is a 1 or 2 run-through game only... Sorry
